Concerning the Coronavirus (COVID-19)
As of today, we are still planning for all Camp Mystic sessions to continue as scheduled. But like all of you, we do not know exactly when life will get back to normal, though we are hoping for the best. We are monitoring the news reports, in close contact with our camp doctor, talking with other camps across the country, and listening to the instructions of the Texas State Department of Health and Human Services, the regulatory agency charged with the supervision of youth camps in Texas.
Changes are happening rapidly, far too fast for us to see what our country will be like in the next two months. We don’t want to make any definite decisions today, as things could be much different in just a week’s time. We understand that you need some time before summer to make a decision on what is best for your family. So we are saying that in early May, we will be able to give a more concrete decision on the camp dates for 2020, and our protocols for the summer. We will be letting everyone know on May 2nd just what Camp will look like in 2020.
All 1st Term and 4th Term payments were due on April 15th. We are moving that due date to May 15th. In the event we have to adjust or cancel a term, your total camp balance will be refunded or you may transfer your daughter’s deposit to the following year.
- We are planning on how best to handle opening day, and how best to screen campers as they arrive.
- We are planning on how to handle quarantining any camper that has a fever at camp, something that commonly happens already. A lot will determine how easily testing for the coronavirus will be in the next two months.
- We are planning on how to increase preventative measures in camp, things like increased handwashing, disinfecting and high alcohol hand sanitizer available all over camp.
- We are planning contingency plans for in the event that the month of June is still closed to everyone, and how we would be able to have camp for all terms in July and August.
In the coming days and weeks, we will email updates and keep this page updated. Thank you for your patience.
If you have any questions or concerns about your daughter attending camp this summer, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. You may call or email us at 830-238-2660 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please take care of yourselves and continue to pray for faith, resilience and for the care and love of one another. We trust that God’s faithfulness will sustain us as always. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” Romans 8:28
